Eco-Friendly Grocery Shopper

About Us

The Makers Market & Farmacy is your neighborhood corner store, reimagined.

We bring together local farmers, makers, and small businesses under one roof to offer an alternative to mass-produced goods. Instead of chasing weekend markets or settling for grocery store shelves, our community now has a place to shop local every day - fresh food, handmade goods, and thoughtfully crafted products, all in one space. More than a store, we’re a shared marketplace built on trust, quality, and connection.

How it Started

What began as a small plant nursery and a weekend farmers market booth quickly revealed a bigger opportunity. After starting Garden Fairies Farm and selling at local markets, we experienced the same challenges many vendors face: limited selling days, unpredictable conditions, and inconsistent income. To grow, we began inviting other vendors to share space at our table. Then someone said, “I wish you would go bigger.” At first, that idea felt unrealistic. But after a few days, and a lot of conversation, that challenge turned into a question: “What if we did go bigger?” What if local vendors had a permanent, indoor space to sell consistently? What if the community had reliable access to local food, goods, and products year-round? That question became The Makers Market & Farmacy.

Who We Are

We’re Phil and Cheryl: a husband-and-wife team building this together. Our backgrounds are diverse, but they share a common thread: building, growing, and creating. Phil’s experience spans hands-on trades, plant nurseries, and business operations. From fence building and handyman services to corporate roles in manufacturing and operations. Cheryl’s background includes finance, marketing, compliance, and technology, before transitioning into agriculture and founding Garden Fairies Farm. Today, this is a family-run business, and our full-time focus, alongside our continued work with Practical Home Pros and Garden Fairies Farm.

What "Farmacy" Means

We believe good health starts with what’s at the end of your fork. “Farmacy” represents a return to real food, transparency, and intentional living. It’s about knowing where your food comes from, how it’s produced, and who made it. It’s about choosing fresh, local, minimally processed products that support both personal wellness and long-term health. Because true wellness isn’t found in a pill bottle, it’s built through what you consume every day.

What Makes us Different

This isn’t just a market, it’s a local grocery store powered entirely by small businesses. Each vendor operates independently within a shared retail space, allowing them to grow without the overhead of opening their own storefront. For customers, it means access to everything you’d find at a farmers market: meat, eggs, dairy, produce, baked goods, plants, pantry items, and artisan goods available throughout the week. We are intentionally curated and values-driven. We partner with vendors who believe in: - Local, transparent sourcing - Responsible and ethical production - Handmade and small-batch quality - Sustainable practices And just as important, we are building a culture of collaboration over competition, where vendors support each other and grow together.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: To support and facilitate the success of local farmers and makers while connecting the community to locally grown, responsibly raised, and thoughtfully handmade products. We believe healthy living should be accessible, and that starts by making it easy to buy local.

Our Vision

We’re building more than a store, we’re building a community hub. A place where customers feel connected to what they buy. Where vendors have a platform to grow. And where local food systems and small businesses can thrive together. If we can make life a little easier for vendors, provide better access to high-quality local goods, and strengthen our local economy, then we’re doing exactly what we set out to do.
