Rocio Make Me a Cake

Hi I am Rocio.

My journey into cake artistry began in 2009. At the time, I was working as a medical assistant when I was laid off during the economic recession of 2008–2009. Around that time, cake decorating shows were becoming very popular. One of my patients, who taught cake decorating classes at Michaels, encouraged me to take one of her classes.

That single class changed my life.

I discovered a passion for baking and cake decorating that I never knew I had. From there, I dedicated myself to learning everything I could. I became mostly self-taught by studying books, watching YouTube tutorials, and practicing every day. As my passion grew, I continued my education by taking specialized classes, including training in Spain, where I learned advanced sugar figurines and sugar flowers.

Over the years, I have mastered the art of creating custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special celebrations. Today, I am proud to be a cake artist and sugar artist who pours creativity, passion, and love into every cake I make. What started as an unexpected layoff became the opportunity that led me to discover my true calling.
